League publications, regardless of format, keep members informed about best practices around the state and country, emerging trends and technologies, policy proposals that affect municipalities, programs and services offered by the League, and key events taking place across the state. Southern City magazine and the weekly League Letter are received by every elected municipal official and every key appointed official, and Southern City also serves as a great source of information for the public about all that is going in North Carolina cites and towns.
Municipal Equation is a nationally-renowned podcast distrbuted every other week through League Letter and via audio apps. Our other publications, such as Municipal Law Notes for municipal attorneys, are targeted to specific member groups to keep them up to date on happenings in their respective fields.
League staff members also actively engage with media outlets around the state to communicate regarding the issues affecting member cities and towns, with just a part of that communication reflected in our news releases. Meanwhile, our Here We Grow campaign is a great way to keep informed about the individual efforts of cities and towns that are driving economic development and job creation.
