The Town Of Aberdeen Police Department Is Currently Seeking A Qualified Candidate To Fill The Position Of Deputy Police Chief. Primary Responsibilities Of The Job Will Be To Supervise The Police Department’s Operations And Assist In The Staffing, Training, Development, Promotion, Evaluation And Discipline Of The Department’s Staff. The Deputy Chief Will Assist The Police Chief In The Development, Implementation And Enforcement Of All Police Department Policies And Practices, And Assist With Various Other Internal Administrative Duties. Interested Applicants Should Possess The Following Requirements: • A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Law Enforcement Experience, With At Least 3 Years At A Supervisory Level Of Captain Or Higher. • Associate’s Degree In Criminal Justice, Public Administration Or Equivalent Experience Highly Preferred • Previous Experience In Supervising Police Personnel Required • Ability To Successfully Pass A Credit Check • Preferred Candidate Should Have Some Sort Of Executive Police Leadership Training (Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate, Graduation From FBI Academy, And/or LEEP) • Experience In Grant Applications And Submittals Helpful • Strong Computer Skills To Include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, And Microsoft Power Point • Commendable Personnel Record The Successful Candidate Will Be Classified As A Salaried Exempt Employee And Work Primarily Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. And Other Hours As Needed. Hiring Range: $72,781 – $85,000, With Excellent Benefits Package Including 5% 401-k Contribution, LGERS Membership, Paid Medical, Dental And Life Insurance, 12 Paid Holidays + Paid Birthday Day Off, Vacation And Sick Leave, And Annual Longevity Payment.
